No, preserved moss does not require any maintenance. Due to the treatment with biopolymers, the moss enters a state of 'hibernation' and no longer needs light, water, or maintenance. The plants remain green and vibrant forever. Maintenance is non-existent, and the shape is preserved.

16. Are there any warranties?

MossMasters offers a 2-year guarantee on production and possible manufacturing flaws for all moss panels and tiles. The guarantee covers the colors and firmness of the moss with normal exposure at the proposed installation site. Additional certificates for fire safety and MSDS sheets can be provided upon request. MossMasters manufactures ex-works, and once the moss is transferred out of their warehouses, the responsibility lies with the end-customer, reseller, or wholesaler. Freight insurance or climate-controlled containers can be arranged based on transit period and destination. Proper storage conditions (dry, well-ventilated space with temperatures between 15°C and 25°C and humidity between 40% and 60%) are necessary for a shelf-life of 2-3 years and to pass on the warranty.

17. Can I stack the unit boxes on top of each other for storage?

It is recommended to place up to 3 boxes horizontally (flat) on top of each other without any risk. However, for storage, it is always recommended

to place the panels sideways. The master boxes have indications and marks on the outside, but they may be placed differently for transport purposes. The master box provides strength and protective support against temperature and humidity fluctuations.

18. Can I assemble or install the products myself?

Yes, it is possible to assemble or install the products yourself. MossMasters can provide more information and an assembly schedule upon request.

If you prefer a specific suspension system or wall fittings for placing the moss on the wall instead of the ceiling, options can be discussed during

the ordering process. Custom frames in any wood color can also be supplied for bigger orders.

19. What options are available for the edge finish?

MossMasters tailors everything to the customer's preferences and offers numerous frames in wood, white, black, or metal,

allowing you to choose the color and thickness that suits your needs.

20. How sturdy is a moss wall?

Moss walls have a high cuddly factor but are sensitive to picking damage or touch. However, once installed, no more moss will come loose.

21. What is the effect on the acoustics?

Moss panels have excellent acoustic properties, turning your space into a peaceful oasis.

They act as whisper walls, effectively reducing echo and reverberation.

A moss panel with a south moss has an NRC value of 0.95, while the aesthetic variant 'Natural' has an NRC value of 0.84,

effectively dampening reverberation.

22. What about smells at the start?

Moss naturally has a scent that may be noticeable for a while after installation, depending on the surface.

The smell gradually diminishes over several weeks and is completely harmless. Good ventilation speeds up this process.

The scent is subjective and some customers appreciate it while others may find it annoying.

23. What is the exact delivery time?

The lead time for moss varies depending on the quantity of the order and the actual productivity and planning.

On average, it takes around 5 weeks for a full container (750m2) to be delivered.

24. Is the moss even?

Moss is a natural product, so variations in structure and color are natural and contribute to the beauty and uniqueness of the product.

25. Is the moss used by MossMasters real?

How is it preserved and treated?

Yes, all moss used by MossMasters is 100% natural and sourced from nature. It is a purely biological product, and the entire process is circular and eco-friendly.  To preserve the moss, we use color pigments and glycerine of plant origins.  Petrochemical or animal glycerine exists,

but we made the choice to work with glycerine of plant origins. Here's our secret formula for treating and preserving the plants:

Ball moss

- natural forest moss

- vegetal glycerin

- green pigments

Flat moss + long moss + fern moss + star moss + rock moss + hair moss

- natural forest mosses

- vegetal glycerin

- food dyes

Lichen

- natural forest moss

- magnesium chloride

- green pigments

.

26. How much does the moss panels cost?

The price of the moss is determined per square meter and varies based on the species, material cost, and composition.

While there is a cost involved, the benefits and value it brings to your space are priceless. The moss brings life to the room, requires no recurring maintenance, saves space that would be taken up by large plants or pots, adds beauty to the environment, absorbs CO2 and fine dust,

improves the climate, sound, concentration, and perception of the space.

27. Can I just use moss from my garden or the forest to create a moss wall myself?

No, the mosses found in nature can only survive in their natural environment and in combination with the soil they grow on.

The moss used by MossMasters is specifically treated to thrive indoors without the need for further maintenance.

Years of knowledge and experience allow MossMasters to guarantee that the moss remains soft, beautiful, and improves the indoor climate.

This guarantee is demanded from all suppliers to ensure trust in the product.

28.Will a moss wall stay soft?

Yes, moss walls remain permanently elastic and soft. However, in low relative humidity conditions (less than 35%), the moss may become drier and more susceptible to damage. It can also lighten in color. When humidity increases, the moss absorbs moisture and regains its softness and color. Moss walls serve as an ideal barometer for the climatic conditions in your area, allowing you to regulate the indoor climate accordingly.

29. What happens if the moss turns white?

In drier or heavily polluted air, the moss may secrete salt crystals, which appear as a white cast or a fine 'sugar layer' at the ends of the moss. This is a signal that the moss requires more moisture. If this occurs, it is recommended to provide your indoor climate with a humidifier and adjust the air conditioning settings. Mist the moss to provide moisture. It is important to address these conditions as prolonged exposure to such an environment can lead to health problems such as headaches, fatigue, irritated skin and eyes, and reduced concentration.

30.What about the fire ratings of your products?

All our mosses have a B1 fire certificate and are well tested. All required documents and test reports are deliverd when asked for.

31. What is the minimum order quantity?

MossMasters only manufactures for bigger resellers, plant-scapers, interior designers, or wholesalers. The minimum order quantity is 2 pallets, and a contractual partnership for a minimum of 1 year and 750m2 (1 full container / 25 pallets) is required. This allows MossMasters to ensure a constant supply and keep prices low for their clients.

32. Can anyone become a client of MossMasters?

Yes, anyone can become a client of MossMasters as long as they commit to a partnership and follow the rules set by MossMasters. MossMasters will advise whether it is best for the client to become a direct client or to order panels from existing stock at selected resellers in the States, Netherlands, or their Albanian warehouse. When accepting new clients, MossMasters carefully considers their market area and ensures they do not supply collections with similar products to competitors. Panels will be produced in the order of entry date.

33. What are the payment terms?

For the first order, full payment is required in advance, which is used to build up moss stock. Before transport, the client will receive an invitation to inspect all goods to ensure the quality is met. After this, 50% of the payment is required in advance, and the remaining 50% is due before transport. Full payment must be made before transport documents are delivered. Payment is made in euros.

34. Is there a scientific benefit to using Moss Master products?

Green is positive for a lot of things. Here's 10 Scientific Benefits of Moss Walls

1. Improved Air Quality

TheWorld Health Organizationreported that over four million deaths were attributed to air pollution exposure during 2012.

These deaths resulted from strokes, lung cancer, and certain types of heart disease. While many of these deaths occurred in areas

with much more pollution than we have in Australia, we’re certainly not free from air pollutants that negatively affect our health.

Moss is particularly good at combatting air pollution. The pollutants in the rain and the air cling to the surface of the moss, and while the pollutants

are stuck there, bacteria convert them into the plant’s biomass. As you can see, having a moss wall nearby can do a world of good for your lungs.

2. Improved Productivity

Researchers at Texas A&M University in the United States examined correlations betweenplants and productivity in the workplace.

They created three different workspaces: one with flowers and plants, one with a sculpture, and one area with no decorative embellishments.

After having research participants work in all three environments, they found that both men and women demonstrated more innovative thinking

and solved more problems while they worked in the space that included flowers and plants.

3. Less Stress

Another study performed byDr. Virginia Lohr of Washington State Universitymeasured stress levels in employees at different workstations.

She found that participants working in environments with plants were 12 % less stressed than participants working at workstations without plants.

Dr. Lohr’s study is not the only study that showed similar results. Time and again, researchers find that the presence of plants

in workplaces decreases overall stress among employees.

4. Reduction in Airborne Dust

Since moss is colonised by bacteria that subsists on the decomposition of organic substances, it can effectively reduce airborne dust.

Airborne dust can contain a variety of potentially dangerous contaminants such as aerosols from cleaners, smoke particles, chemical dust, moulds, and fumes. When people inhale airborne dust, they’re put at risk for dust-related diseases like asthma, allergic alveolitis, and cancer.

Introducing moss into a room helps you to exercise more control over airborne dust. The soluble inorganic components of the airborne dust are absorbed and metabolised, effectively eliminated from the air.

5. Noise Reduction

People have long used foliage to reduce noise and create more peaceful environments. Homeowners who live on busy streets plant trees

or shrubs to block traffic noises, and people escape to forests when they’re looking for peace and quiet.

The same principles apply with moss walls. Vegetation naturally blocks high-frequency sounds while the supporting structure diminishes

low-frequency noises. Some studies have shown that plants can reduce ambient noises in offices by as much as 5 decibels.

6. Healthier Skin

The presence of plants in your living and working quarters has been known to reduce dry skin. Hydrated skin not only helps us to look healthier and avoid wrinkles, but it also helps our wounds to heal faster. We feel healthier in general and avoid the itching and scratching that accompany dry skin.

7. Lower Energy Costs

A process known as “evapotranspiration” makes it possible for the areas around moss walls to be cooler in the summer months.

During the winter, moss walls provide an added layer of insulation to indoor areas, and this also reduces heating costs.

Through evapotranspiration, water makes its way through the moss and then is evaporated into the surrounding atmosphere.

Essentially, you’re bringing the water cycle indoor where it can provide all kinds of healthful benefits to those fortunate enough to enjoy them.

8. Stabilised Moisture Levels

Mosses can help to stabilise moisture levels in a room and maintain levels of relative humidity at between 40 and 60 per cent.

This is one of the more interesting and beneficial attributes of moss - that it can absorb moisture out of the air when humidity is high

and then release it back to the air when humidity is low. How is this beneficial to humans?

Studies have shown that viruses like influenza are most likely to spread when humidity drops below 10 grams/cubic meter.

Therefore, during low-humidity times of the year, moss can help your indoor spaces to keep humidity levels that don’t promote the spread of disease. But moss takes disease prevention one step further as well. It also serves to clean the disease particles that are already floating around in the air.

9. Reduced Carbon Dioxide Levels

People and plants are natural partners. We breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, and plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

Moss walls help to keep this natural partnership in action even when you’re indoor or in an urban setting.

10. Sharper Focus

Researchers at the Royal College of Agriculture in Cirencester in England performed an interesting study regarding student attentiveness and plants. They found that students were 70% more attentive when taught in classrooms containing plants. Additionally, attendance was higher for lectures offered in rooms containing plants. How would greater attentiveness benefit you and those around you?

As you can see, the scientific benefits of moss walls are profound and quite interesting. From psychological benefits like less stress and improved productivity to financial benefits like lower heating and cooling costs, moss walls have a lot to offer. The environmental benefits of moss walls

are impressive as well. They can improve air quality and help to stabilise humidity in your interior.
